Express Entry is Canada's application management system for three immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP); Canadian Experience Class (CEC); and, Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSWP).
Eligible candidates receive a score based on criteria such as their age, education, work experience, and language skills. The Canadian government routinely holds draws inviting the highest-scoring candidates to apply for permanent residence.

Work Permit:
There are 2 types of work permits.
Employer-specific work permit
An employer-specific work permit lets you work in Canada according to the conditions on your work permit, such as
-
the name of the specific employer you can work for
-
how long you can work
-
the location where you can work (if applicable)
Before you apply for an employer-specific work permit, your employer must give you
-
a copy of your employment contract
-
1 of the following:
-
a copy of a labour market impact assessment (LMIA)
-
an offer of employment number (for LMIA-exempt workers)
-
To get this number, your employer must use the Employer Portal.
-
-
Open work permit
An open work permit lets you work for any employer in Canada, except for one that
-
is listed as ineligible on the list of employers who have failed to comply with the conditions, or
-
regularly offers striptease, erotic dance, escort services or erotic massages
If you want to bring your family with you
Your spouse or common-law partner and dependent children may be able to work, study or live with you while you work in Canada.

Study Permit:
Before you apply for a study permit, you need:
-
A letter of acceptance from a designated learning institution (DLI)
-
A valid passport or travel document
A designated learning institution is a school approved by a provincial or territorial government to host international students. All primary and secondary schools in Canada are designated learning institutions.
If you plan to attend a post-secondary school, such as a college or university, make sure it’s on the list.
If you need to take certain courses before you are accepted into your program (conditional acceptance), you’ll be given a study permit for the duration of those courses. Once the college or university accepts you into your chosen program, you must apply to extend your study permit.
